Senior Developer

Commencement Date: ASAP

Minimum Qualification Required: Degree in Maths, Computing, Engineering or equivalent

You will design and develop innovative and large-scale software systems. You must have a minimum of 4 years experience in the software industry as a software developer. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to:

  • Write and communicate in clear and fluent language
  • Design and develop very large scale software systems
  • Deploy and manage distributed systems in a production environment
  • Understand and use computational complexity theory
  • Understand and explain the application of functional programming techniques to distributed systems
  • Understand and explain the application of functional programming techniques to distributed systems
  • Coordinate developers across teams and work with external partners
  • Use effectively, and have experience of, a wide-range software   development tools, design approaches, methods and philosophies
  • Be familiar with the literature of software development, and to have read the major works
  • Preferably have active community involvement via participation in open source projects, standardisation, blogging, or academic publications
  • Preferably have a background in the mathematics of distributed systems and/or statistics
  • Preferably have experience in agile development

We are looking for someone who can work in multi-skilled teams, get things done, take the initiative and deliver. We want someone who wants to attack the hard problems of scaling multi-million user services and wants to create software they can be proud of.
