Barry Downes is the Executive Director – Innovation and Commercialisation for the TSSG and is a member of the TSSG executive management team.As TSSG’s Executive Director he is part of the team that has led the development of the TSSG to a one hundred and twenty person basic, applied and industry focused Research Centre.

Before joining the TSSG Barry held senior management positions in product development in the USA, professional services in Europe and most recently in research in Europe. Barry has delivered multimillion Euro projects to some of the world’s largest organisations.

Barry graduated from the Smurfit School of Business, University College Dublin (UCD) with a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A), 1.1 Honours. Barry also holds an Advanced Management Diploma from UCD and a BSc. in Applied Computing from the Waterford Institute of Technology.
