System Administrator

The successful candidate will work as the primary technical contact for a TSSG based project. The project will involve the setup and management of UNIX servers. The candidate will also work on leading edge research & development infrastructure projects, based mainly on UNIX servers, under the supervision of Senior System Administrators.

This work will include the remote provisioning and patching of servers, trouble-shooting and resolving problems with production systems. This may require some on-call work and travel. The candidate will also have to demonstrate an ability to work autonomously in a research environment.

This role is part of a senior team within the group and the successful candidate will be required to gain a detailed understanding of Solaris Jumpstart and Solaris Zones administration to allow them to support the Organisation.

All candidates for this position must have a BSc/BEng in computing or telecommunications, and a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.
