Research Software Developer - IMS Arcs Project

Minimum Qualification Required: Degree in Computing or related discipline

Major Duties:
- Working on existing projects within the PCS group in TSSG
- Software development
- Telecommunications research
- Writing research papers
- Identifying and writing funding proposals at national and European level

Skills needed:
- Java software engineer
- 2-3 years industrial experience or equivalent
- J2EE experience required

The following skills are advantageous
- J2ME
- Knowledge of SQL and familiarity with MySQL or equivalent
- Knowledge of UML
- Web development skills
- Familiarity with agile development
- Understanding of test driven development and software testing practices
- Familiarity with telecommunications and internet standards

The successful candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills for effective dialogue with colleagues on a project team and superiors.
Must continue to develop an appreciation of the wider field of technology outside their own specialization and has developed a good broad understanding of computer system architecture, (studying, magazines,WEB..)
