Research Software Developer - PERSIST Project

Minimum Qualification Required: Masters / Phd in telecommunications related area

Major Duties:
- Working on existing projects within the PCS group in TSSG
- Software development
- Telecommunications research
- Writing research papers
- Identifying and writing funding proposals at national and European level

Skills Needed / Requirements:
- Proven research capability
- Ability to work alone or in a team
- Good publication track record
- Ability to identify future funding streams
- Capability to write or participate in proposal preparation
- Masters level education, PhD preferable
- Demonstrable of Pervasive / Ubiquitous computing
- Machine Learning research capability
- User behaviour research capability
- C, C++ (STL, MFC), Java, .NET languages, PERL, PHP
- Familiarity with telecommunications and internet standards

The successful candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills for effective dialogue with colleagues on a project team and superiors.
Must continue to develop an appreciation of the wider field of technology outside their own specialization and has developed a good broad understanding of computer system architecture, (studying, magazines,WEB..).
