Software Developer
Minimum Requirements:
This role will report to the Lead Engineer/Technical Manager. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years related experience.
Requirements:
- BS/MS in CS or equivalent.
- Strong Java or C++ skills and object oriented design experience, including a working knowledge of core libraries and design patterns.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment.
- Experience working in an Agile Development Environment.
Major Duties:
The role of a software engineer requires solving a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways. The software engineer must be able to take ownership of specific complex tasks, and take them to completion. The successful candidate must be capable of contributing to the architectural design and enhancement of current and future projects, and must have the ability to design and implement complex module with minimal supervision or review.
Principal Responsibilities:
The candidate will have to:
• Work on multiple problems of diverse scope where refinement of design/requirements will be necessary .
• Produce functional and design specifications and test plans in the course of implementing solutions.
• Take responsibility for the complete life cycle of a module from requirements to delivery.
• Good analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Logical approach to problem solving.
• An appreciation for software development tools, methods and trends.
• Plan, schedule and monitor own work with little review.
• Be proactive in a development team, contribute significantly to the success of the team and be able to gain the co-operation of others.
• Have experience in a variety of technologies, possibly focusing on a particular expertise.
• Continue to demonstrate an organised, systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to designing, problem solving, coding and defect fixing.
The successful candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills for effective dialogue with colleagues on a project team and superiors.
Must continue to develop an appreciation of the wider field of technology outside their own specialization.
