TSSG on the panel at the first WIP Jam
The first WIP (Wireless Industry Partnership) Jam will be co- hosted in Messe Berlin, June 9th. The event will bring together leading industry experts including Intel, LinuxTag and Get Jar. The event connects developers to information, resources and people, with exhibitions and discussions covering a range of topics around ‘mobile business solutions’, with a core focus on Mobile Profits. The topics for discussion include:
• Mobile Enterprise - Mobilizing your customers and your employees
• Redefining Mobility - Building applications for netbooks and tablets
• App Store Placement Optimization - Tips and tricks
• Business Models - Making money from mobile software?
• Cross Platform Development - Platform choices & mobile dev tools
• Augmented Reality - Adding an edge to your business
Barry Downes, TSSG/3CS Executive Director for Innovation and Commercialisation has been selected for a panel discussion titled, ‘Who lives in the mobile cloud’?
Opinions are slowly converging to say that the future of mobile apps is in the cloud, mainly for cost saving, code and content re-use or flexibility reasons. While the goal is clear the means are still vague that will maintain a good user experience despite increasingly busy data networks and security concerns. The panel discussion will look into the how and when of the mobile cloud, touching on solutions, providers and challenges of going alone or accompanied.
The WIP Jam event is being held on June 9th 2010 at Messe Berlin.
