Not withstanding the fact that I hate the name Paddy's Valley, it looks like it was a great networking programme.
At one of the events the PV group attended the Pitch Forum in Mountain View. According to Alexiablogs http://alexiablogs.com/2007/12/05/day-three-facebook-and-socialtext/ the turnout was bigger than they expected. The crowd was a mix of ex-pat entrepreneurs, lawyers, investors and interested professionals. Ambassador Collins kicked off the evening, a VC panel debate on funding followed. The pitchers made their two minute case to the VCs and answered questions. Turns out our very own Helene Haughney (Nubiq - http://www.nubiq.com, http://www.zinadoo.com, http://www.mobiseer.com) impressed the panel most and won a nice Apple gift.

I recently made a presentation on Irish Research Policy to the Enterprise Ireland’s Wireless Advisory Group (WAB). I also attended a number of session with Helene for Nubiq http://www.nubiq.com.
The WAB is a group of U.S. Software and Telecoms industry executives that generally have some Irish connection and they provide advice and support to Irish start-ups.
The WAB sits a couple of times and year and Helene presented the Nubiq’s business plan to the group over a number of sessions. The response was terrific and the feedback extremely helpful.
I would recommend this to any start-up. The key Enterprise Ireland contact is Maggie Daleo who is the SVP for EI on the West-Coast (USA).
Also check out Nubiq's new product MobiSeer http://www.mobiseer.com I'll follow up with a separate post on this.
