Following on from 3GSM, the TSSG will have three of its cluster companies at the largest US mobile and wireless conference, CTIA Wireless 2008, next week in Las Vegas. They are:
- Nubiq http://www.nubiq.com
- IMS-Stream http://www.ims-stream.com
- FeedHenry http://www.FeedHenry.com
IMS-Stream and FeedHenry will be demonstrating converged IMS and Web 2.0 applications on two stands at the event and Nubiq will be there to meet key partners and customers.
We are all looking forward to wall-to-wall meetings with customers, partners and the other companies at the event. We are also attending the Enterprise Ireland networking reception at the Nine Fine Irishmen on Wed and the Wireless Advisory Board Dinner at the Mandalay Bay on Thursday.
Overall this is an "easier" event than 3GSM - simply because Las Vegas is better set-up to deal with the thousands attending the event, than Barcelona. But also there is a real buzz in the US re IMS / Web 2.0 / mobile 2.0; so we are really looking forward to getting maximum results from this event.

Congratulations to Chris Chedgey and his team at Headway Software http://www.headwaysoftware.com for winning the JOLT (http://www.joltawards.com/jolts) Productivity Award for their Structure101 product. Some of the research that resulted in Structure101 was done in partnership with the TSSG http://www.tssg.org and we’re extremely proud of our contribution to this award.
Many more successes to you and your team Chris.

We are delighted to be nominated for the ITLG, Irish Times Innovation Award tomorrow night at Stanford University, San Francisco, California.
On the evening, the ITLG will present honors to Intel Chairman Craig Barrett and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Micheál Martin TD http://www.michealmartin.ie for their contributions to the growth of Ireland's technology sector. The ITLG will also present the Irish Times' Innovation Award to a single Irish company that has achieved technical or business milestones and has demonstrated a capacity for international growth.
This year's judging process has included the participation of the ITLG Board, Enterprise Ireland, Invest Northern Ireland, IDA Ireland and the Irish Times, each of which nominated highly innovative Irish companies seeking to grow their overseas presence. Unlike other awards, ITLG honorees are selected through an external nomination process.
The ITLG Board are: o John Hartnett, Senior VP at Palm Inc.
o Niall O'Connor, CIO of Apple Inc
o Rory McInerney, Vice President, Intel Corporation
o Barry O'Sullivan, Senior Vice President at Cisco Systems
o Tony Redmond, Chief Technology Officer at HP Services
o John Gilmore, COO, Sling Media Inc
o Conrad Burke, President & CEO, Innovalight Inc
The Irish Times and Irish America Magazine have also dedicated space in upcoming issues to profile ITLG finalists and ultimately the award winner. John Collins, one of Ireland's most prominent technology journalists, has already interviewed Helene and a preview of the awards ceremony ran in the Irish Times on Monday.
Established in October 2007 and based in Palo Alto, California, the Irish Technology Leadership Group (ITLG) is a group of Irish and Irish American senior executives based in Silicon Valley, active in the global technology industry, committed to ensuring that Ireland remains a strategic area of investment and opportunity for US technology companies, and who are keen to support the growth and development of Irish-based technology companies.

Well what can I say, the fDi rankings have found us out. They have found out what anyone who lives in Waterford knows - that Waterford is the Number One Micro City in Europe.
Download fDi Report
Also in the report Waterford is ranked as no 19 city in Europe overall (London is no 1 - no disagreement there), whereas Dublin is no 21 and Cambridge is 32. Although I do think Zurich deserves better than 42nd place.
Also Waterford is the 15th most attractive location for FDI in Europe above such great cities as Copenhagen (17), Amsterdam (21) and Frankfurt (Oder) 25.
Looks like we have been found out, as the city to work, live and invest in :-)
