 Activities
  • Claire is currently working as a senior researcher on the EU IST FP7 project, Autonomic Internet (http://www.ist-autoi.org). The project’s objective is to create a virtual communication resource overlay with autonomic characteristics for the purposes of fast and guaranteed service delivery.
  • She previously participated in the EU IST FP6 project, ONE (http://one-project.eu). This project builds on the idea of Digital Business Ecosystems in creating technologies which enable an open and de-centralised negotiation environment for small businesses. A peer-to-peer platform for the automated execution of negotiations based on knowledge sharing and self-learning is being implemented.
  • She has also worked in the area of Living Labs as part of the EU IST FP6 project, CoreLabs (http://www.corelabs.eu). The CoreLabs project dealt with the challenging issue of the Living Lab and its potential as a future European Innovation research infrastructure. The Living Lab is a "real-life" validation environment where stakeholders - public sector, end-users, small and large industry and academia - collaborate to create, prototype and validate new products and services. Under a similar theme, she was involved in the EU IST FP6 project, BrainBridges (http://www.brainbridges.info) which looked into the research area of Collaborative Working Environments.
  • Another research area which she has been very active in includes Network Management and the emergence of Autonomic Networks. She worked as a senior researcher in the Celtic project, Madeira (http://www.celtic-madeira.org) which succeeded in providing novel technologies for the network management of peer-to-peer networks.
  • Claire has participated in and also co-ordinated several successful EU IST FP6 & FP7 proposals.
