TSSG’s research activity and participation in collaborative European projects has secured over 100 jobs in the South East. The knowledge generated has enabled TSSG engage with over 90 Irish companies in the last five years, effectively transferring expertise through a variety of services, and has also helped create 11 start up companies.

TSSG continues to meet the challenges innovation demands, and competes with its national peers for both talent and resources. All of the TSSG’s research activity is funded via projects. TSSG competes for collaborative tenders won in competition with other leading academic and industrial research centres and groups across Ireland and Europe.

TSSG is funded through Irish HEA, Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), European Union Framework Programme FP6 & FP7 funding, and Enterprise Ireland (EI) commercialisation funds.
